Lead is one of the oldest metallic minerals in use. Lead (Pb) is a blue-silver colored element with atomic number 82 and atomic mass 207.19. It is among the metals that can be found naturally in nature. The most common compounds of lead are the sulfur mineral galena (PbS) and its oxidized products cerussite (PbCO3) and anglesite (PbSO4). After lead ore is extracted from underground by digging and blasting methods, it is made ready for the flotation process by going through crushing and grinding stages. They are then processed by extractive metallurgy methods. The froth flotation process allows lead to be separated from the accompanying rock and soil particles and collected in a concentrate containing Pb. The main areas of use of lead include battery manufacturing, radiation insulation, ammunition production, various alloys and gasoline additives. As CVK Madencilik, we produce LEAD CONCENTRATE in our modern flotation facility located in Çanakkale Kalkım, which we started production in 2012 by equipping it with the latest technology and fully automated machines.
