CVK Madencilik Bayındır Lead-Zinc Operation is located approximately 4.5 km north of Sarıyurt village in the Bayındır district of İzmir province. The licensed operating area covers 941.20 hectares and includes underground mining operations and administrative buildings. The site was acquired in 2017, and after the completion of drilling and reserve determination studies, official requirements were fulfilled and production of run-of-mine ore began in 2019. The run-of-mine ore extracted from the underground mines is transported to the flotation plant located in the Çanakkale–Yenice–Kalkım region, where it is processed into lead and zinc concentrates, a significant portion of which is exported. Due to the existing tailings pond at the Kalkım flotation plant reaching capacity, production activities were temporarily suspended in 2022.
